Red Bear House Concert is a recurring show, in a house concert format, presented by Sunny Side Down Records in Durham, NC. We try to do a show every 3 weeks... the schedule is not yet set. Attendance is by invitation (send your fans to ssdrecords.com/redbear to request an invitation.) and we ask the audience for donations for the performers. About 80% of attendees pay the suggested donation. The concerts are presented in a basement room of a private home - we can fit about 30 people in there.
Your act may be local or touring through the area. A local draw helps you get paid, but we do not consider your draw in booking decisions. You need not be associated with Sunny Side Down Records.
Does your act fit our format? Think acoustic and orginal. Your act should work well in an unplugged setting. We do use a PA, but no drumkits or heavy amplification. Other than that, just about any genre is OK. We're more interested in presenting interesting new music than fitting into a pigeon-hole. Shows usually start at 3pm and run till about 5pm.
Accomodations. We have a private green room for you with a bed in case you are traveling through and need a place to stay for the night. There is additional crash space if needed. There is a full bath next to the green room - shared with attendees during the show. At the show we supply coffee, soda, iced tea, and water, and ask the attendees to each bring snack items to share.
Smoking/drug policy. We do not allow smoking, alcohol, or illegal drugs anywhere on the property. The owner of the house is deathly allergic to tobacco so we must be very strict about this. Thanks for your cooperation.
We only accept submissions online through this form. You must have an online press kit. We recommend a Power Press Kit (PPK) provided by MyPPK.com or an electronic press kit (EPK) provided by sonicbids.com, but you may submit your own website, your myspace page, an online PK from another provider, etc., as long as it includes substantially the same information as a PPK or EPK.
